About Joy Makers

Joy Makers began in 2021, when a group of neighborhood families pooled their resources to host an open invation, Christmas party. This party was to help teach our children about giving back to children in the foster care system and to show them what Christmas is really about, “The Magic of coming together to help others.”

We were inspired to donate to foster children after a family friend, Mrs. Diane Parker (my family lovingly called Nana), would tell us stories about her selfless act of loving and caring for over 100 newborn foster children. Inspired by Nana, we made it our mission to help foster children so they can enjoy the spirit and love of the Christmas season. In the first three years, we were able to collect and donate over 600 toys/gift cards to foster children during the Holiday seasons.

Being a Joy Maker extends beyond the Christmas season. This coming school year we will be supporting local foster children with the needed school supplies to see to it that they have a GREAT school year. This ensures that the foster children in our community have the school resources they need to learn and grow. Our goal is consistantly support and empower the foster community.

All of our board members and directors are dedicated to this mission. We are passionate about making a positive impact on our foster care community.
